Occipital had a new sensor to showcase called the Structure Core at CES 2016. Twin IR cameras (59 h.fov x 45.8 v.fov @ 1280×960 and 30 FPS), ultra-wide vision tracking cameras (159 deg diagonal FOV @ 640×480 and 60 FPS), with infrared laser projector. This sensor is meant for OEM integration and looks ripe for HMD integration. The sensor itself is 100.6mm wide by 20 mm tall and 14.11mm deep.
I was told working sensors were in the glass case but otherwise they’d be available later this year. The datasheet says its optimized for SLAM applications and has an wide operating range of 0.3 to 5+ meters. Works with the current Structure SDK and is designed for AR/VR SLAM, 3D Scanning, drift-free tracking, and as a bridge engine for mixed reality. USB 3.0 and Lightning connectors available. Would love to get my hands on one of these to integrate into a military HMD.
